Hiren Patel is a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Previously, he worked with Prof. Edward A. Lee in the Ptolemy group at the University of California, Berkeley. Hiren received his PhD from Virginia Tech - Go Hokies!
Hiren’s research interests are in embedded software and hardware systems. This includes embedded systems, real-time systems, computer architecture, hardware for machine learning, and design automation.
